Suzanne Moore M.S. CCC-SLP

I have 12 years of experience working with children from the age of birth to 21 years old with language delays, language disorders, articulation disorders, AAC device users, special populations including autism, down syndrome, hearing loss and fluency disorders in both a private practice and school based setting. I have worked in several school districts and have direct knowledge of the workings of IEP and 504 plans. I am licensed through the Mississippi Department of Health and I am an active member of the American Speech and Hearing Association.

I am a firm believer in a whole child approach. I want to work with you and your child to enable them to reach their full potential. Every child is unique and every family has specific goals for their child. I design my therapy plans to address the child’s areas of need while striving to meet the family’s goals. My therapy sessions are context based. I employ literature to provide a vehicle for teaching and reinforcing language, social skills, articulation, and fluency concepts. The use of literature provides the child with context and provides opportunities for real word application of skills in a more natural context within the therapy setting. This approach also promotes easy carry over for the parent to utilize in the home. For example, families can more easily reinforce the acquisition of vocabulary introduced in therapy if the family knows the vocabulary was introduced using a pirate theme and is related to pirates. I believe that the child, the family, and the therapist must work as a team to achieve progress and promote carry over outside of the therapy setting.

Every child deserves a bright future.
